Healing with Bach Flower Remedies

I have incorporated many healing modalities into my practice, but perhaps the one I am most excited about is becoming a Bach Flower Remedy practitioner.

I started using Bach Flower remedies 15 years ago in my personal healing sessions and am deeply thrilled to be sharing them with others.

Bach Flower remedies are an energetic and vibrational form of healing. There are 38 remedies total, which are made from wild flowers. Each flower essence carries an energy which works to rebalance a specific emotional state. Working alone or in combination, the remedies help transform negative mental/emotional states into their positive potential, creating openings for growth and positive action.

The remedies can be taken singularly, or in the form that I use for myself and my clients. I make what's called a "process remedy". The process remedies work to peel the layers of our emotional, mental, and spiritual onion. With each remedy that you take, the current emotional states shift, and you learn what you needed to learn from that layer. Then the next layer emerges, showing you your next level of healing and growth.

Bach Flower remedies are safe for everyone. Because they work on an energetic and vibrational level, they have no side effects and can be taken with all other medications or herbs. They are safe as well for children and pets.

They are also extremely gentle. Often, my clients come in saying, "I don't think much has happened with this remedy." Then, as they update me, they articulate many powerful shifts, and they are stunned. Sometimes, the shift can be dramatic, yet not feel dramatic. You're just doing something differently than you were doing before, or perceiving something differently, and you're simply in the moment of the shift, going about your day.

However, when a client is ready, the remedies can support the deepest healing, which like any deep healing, can be scary and difficult. The remedies cannot spare us from having challenges in life or the growing pains that come with living a freer life. They can, however, help us feel confident that we can manage the harder layers, and trust that everything that's happening is for our higher good.

The man who discovered the remedies, Edward Bach, was a bacteriologist, physician and pathologist who believed that in order to create deep healing, our focus needs to be on emotional and spiritual health, not just physical symptoms.

Bach believed that people can taking charge of their own health by understanding and accepting the needs of their own souls, rather than attending to the needs of their body alone.

Bach's philosophy is that healing is about returning to a state of unity, of experiencing ourselves as interconnected with all of life and nature. He believed in healing being an empowering process.

It is said, and I have experienced, that the remedies bring your personal energy into harmony with your soul and higher self, creating emotional well-being and freeing you from negative emotional states. Once your energy is balanced and harmonious, the path becomes clear for healing at a physical level as well.

For many people, the concepts of energetic and vibrational healing are really "out there", though current scientific research is corroborating with these concepts. But Bach actually opposed studying the remedies from a Western, orthodox research perspective. He was clear that the remedies are about reconnecting with our roots, and finding our healing through our interconnectedness with the natural world.

While I would like to become more skilled in explaining energetic and vibrational healing, the bottom line is simple and powerful: the remedies work. My teacher says: the remedies don't change who we are, they change who we are not. The remedies help us connect with the deepest truth about ourselves, the truth that lies beneath the layers of wounds and habit. My clients who take the remedies become more attuned to, and embracing of, their unique path in life. With the support of the remedies, they have become unstuck from patterns that have been plaguing them for years.

I am constantly humbled and grateful for the rapidity with which my clients experience a shift in their reality and behavior. The remedies have also helped me be more confident in myself as a therapist, healer, mother, wife, daughter, and friend. I continue to have challenges all the time, but I move through them with such deep learning, growth, appreciation, and higher purpose. I look forward to peeling many more of my own layers, and serving others as they peel theirs.
